| Description: | The Seeley Lake Challenge Biathlon event registration, safety class, race, spectators meet at the Nordic Ski Trails at the junction of Morrell Creek Road #477 and Morrell Falls #4353, turn just north of the VFW flagpole. Saturday * 9-11am registration * 11am 1/2 hour mandatory safety class for all novices * 11:30am 2/2 hour mandatory safety class * noon zero hour (sighting in) * 1pm biathlons start * The race master will set the start times based on participation. CLASSES: * Experienced - Having done a biathlon ($25) ski, shoot, ski shoot, ski (.22 caliber rifle, no scope) Sprint distances men - 10K ski - 10 targets (classic or skate) women - 7.5K ski - 10 targets (classic or skate) * Novice - Never having done a biathlon ($20) ski, shoot, ski shoot, ski (.22 caliber rifle, no scope) Sprint distances men - 10K ski - 10 targets (classic or skate) women - 7.5K ski - 10 targets (classic or skate) * Kids Biathlon (54" tall - up to 16 yrs) ($5) ski, shoot, ski shoot, ski (.22 caliber rifle, no scope) Balloon targets 1/4 mile ski loops * Fun Biathlon (2 people- one to ski, one to shoot or 1 person do it all) ($10) ski, shoot, ski shoot, ski (.22 caliber rifle, no scope) Balloon targets 1/2 mile ski loop Starting Date: Saturday, January 21, 2012 Ending Date: Saturday, January 21, 2012 | |||
