| Description: | Classic mountaineering event combines extensive climbing and steep descents through challenging terrain. Divisions for Men & Women, Pro and Recreational. The Pro Division covers a minimum 5,000 vertical feet and the Rec Division 2,100 of vertical. All competitors must have the following equipment during the race: *457 kHz Avalanche Transceiver *Skins for Ascending--No Snowshoes. Booting is only allowed where specified. *Backpack *Skis with metal edges or splitboard *Skis and splitboards must have adequate retention devices or brakes. *Helmet--must be properly worn and fastened during the competition. Pre-registration prior to Wednesday, January 25. A mandatory competitor's meeting will be held Friday, January 27 at the Bozeman Public Library at 5:30 PM. Must be 16 or older to enter. If under the age of 18 a signature of a parent or a legal guardian is required. Parent must be present at the mandatory competitor meeting. | |||
